�� is partnering with The Club at River Oaks to host the inaugural , a 36-hole junior golf championship for boys under 18, on November 14–15, 2026. The two-day tournament offers junior golfers an opportunity to test their skills and compete against fellow U18 players.

Tournament Details:

Location: The Club at River Oaks
Format: 36-hole championship
Eligibility: Boys under 18
Registration fee: $180

Young Alumni Panel Connects Current Students with Life Beyond the Hillside

��’s Life Lab hosted the 2026 Young Alumni Panel, bringing current students together with recent graduates to hear firsthand about the college experience, career pathways, and the lasting impact of their time on the Hillside.

The panel featured four �� Kent alumni currently pursuing a range of academic and professional interests:

Mano Idir ’24 — Baruch College, pursuing Finance
Graeme Russell ’23 — American University, pursuing Political Science
Chika Nduka ’21 — Pepperdine University, pursuing an MBA in Marketing
Sam Turkowitz ’24 — NYU, pursuing Real Estate Finance

Through personal stories and reflections, the panelists offered students a glimpse into the opportunities and challenges that come with life after �� Kent. Their experiences highlighted the importance of preparation, independence, and the relationships built during their time at the School.

For Chika Nduka ’21, the connections formed at �� Kent continue to shape his life well beyond graduation. Reflecting on the enduring bond shared by the �� Kent brotherhood, he encouraged current students to make the most of their time on the Hillside by building genuine relationships.

“Before you leave �� Kent, make sure you connect with everyone. I still get texts from people saying, ‘You went to �� Kent?’ And every time, it brings me right back. This place changed my life for the better. I needed the structure and support �� Kent gave me, and I know others feel the same way. So while you’re here, be a good person, make genuine connections, and build relationships that last long after you leave the Hillside.”

The Young Alumni Panel reflects �� Kent’s commitment to preparing students for life beyond the classroom while strengthening the lifelong relationships that make the School’s community unique. Through continued engagement with alumni, current students are reminded that their �� Kent journey does not end on Prize Day, but marks the beginning of a lasting connection to the Hillside community.

�� Kent’s Co-Head Prefect Explores Innovation Through Summer Internship

As he prepares to return to the Hillside as ��’s 2026–2027 Co-Head Prefect, Tinyiko Makhubela ‘27 spent part of his summer interning at the Legal Innovation Summit 2026, where he gained firsthand exposure to the rapidly evolving intersection of emerging technologies and the legal profession.

Working alongside lawyers, founders, and innovators, Tinyiko received direct personal experience into how innovation is reshaping traditional industries, reinforcing his growing interest in finance. This opportunity also reflected a lesson that has been central to his own �� Kent experience: the importance of staying curious, being adaptable to change, and developing the fortitude needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Reflecting on the opportunity, Tinyiko shared, “Experiences like this remind me why I’m working toward a future in finance and understanding how industries evolve, how innovation reshapes traditional fields, and how to stay adaptable. As I get closer to attending college, I know this is the kind of curiosity and exposure that’s going to shape how I show up and ask better questions, stay open to unfamiliar rooms, and build the necessary instincts I’ll need for whatever’s next.”

�� Kent Launches Life Lab 2026 with Young Alumni College Panel

�� is excited to kick off Life Lab 2026 with one of our most anticipated annual events, the Young Alumni College Panel.

As our Sixth Form seniors prepare for life after the Hillside, they’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from recent �� Kent graduates who have successfully navigated the transition from boarding school to college and beyond. The panel will explore the real college experience, what surprised them most, what they wish they had known before arriving on campus, and the practical advice they believe every graduating senior should know.
This year’s panel features an impressive group of young �� Kent alumni whose experiences span a variety of universities, careers, and interests:

Sam Turkowitz ’24, a New York City native, is studying Finance at New York University, where he serves as president of the university’s Real Estate Club while also playing club hockey.

Mano Idir ’24, from Port Jefferson, New York, is pursuing a Finance degree at Baruch College. He is a FIG Analyst with the Baruch Investment Management Group and continues his passion for athletics as a member of the basketball program.

Chika Nduka ’21, from Seattle, Washington, is building his career in marketing with Nike while earning his MBA at Pepperdine University, offering students valuable insight into balancing professional growth with graduate education.

Ben Eisendrath ’24, a Los Angeles native, is a member of the Harvard University men’s basketball team, where he serves as the starting point guard while pursuing his undergraduate studies.

Graeme Russell ’23, from Michigan, is studying Political Science at American University and competes as a member of the university’s crew team, sharing his perspective on academics, leadership, and collegiate athletics.

We are incredibly grateful to Sam, Mano, Chika, Ben, and Graeme for giving back to the �� Kent community. Their willingness to share their experiences helps ensure that the next generation of �� Kent graduates begins his own journey with greater confidence, perspective, and inspiration.

Professor Visits �� Kent for Advanced STEM Lecture

On May 2, �� welcomed guest lecturer Dr. Paweł Grzegrzółka, Assistant Teaching Professor and Calculus Coordinator at Syracuse University, for a special classroom session with students in the Calculus II course. Grzegrzółka led an in-depth, college-level exploration of power series expansions—a key topic in the study of advanced mathematics and a cornerstone of the current course sequence.

The visit was a continuation of an academic partnership that began in the fall, when Grzegrzółka joined �� Kent faculty member and Syracuse University adjunct professor Joseph Barowski for a class observation and a long discussion about pedagogical strategies in calculus instruction. Inspired by that visit, Barowski invited Grzegrzółka back to the Hillside to deliver a lecture during the second trimester of the course.

The guest lecture focused on power series expansions of exponential and trigonometric functions such as e^x, sin(x), and cos(x)—an elegant application of recent classroom work on convergent and divergent series. The topic served not only as a deep reinforcement of learned concepts, but also as a bridge to the class’s next major topic: Taylor Series, widely regarded as the climax of a rigorous Calculus II curriculum.

“It was a privilege to have Dr. Grzegrzółka join us in the classroom,” said Barowski. “Our students got a firsthand look at how university-level mathematics is taught, and how the concepts we cover here are preparing them for what’s next.”

The class’s small size offered a unique advantage. “I loved that it was a more intimate learning experience for the class, with only five students,” one student shared. “We had the chance to ask questions directly and go deeper into the material.”

Grzegrzółka’s visit reflects ��’s continued commitment to personalized, advanced academics—particularly in STEM fields where students can benefit from direct exposure to collegiate faculty and content.

“We’re not just trying to cover material,” added Barowski. “We’re building a foundation for college success, and experiences like this show our students what’s possible.”
